Driftwood
I crouched to pick up some lovely black stones to throw into the ocean with my toddler this week, but the stones were light and I immediately recognised a certain grain I’ve become familiar with. They were actually ocean-weathered charcoal; burnt driftwood that had been tossed by the ocean and fashioned into these precious pebbly pieces. We used them to scribble and draw on the rock platform and threw some more stones into the ocean. I collected some charcoal pebbles for myself of course. I’m not done with these yet!
