Bacon accidents

"All painting is an accident. But it's also not an accident, because one must select what part of the accident one chooses to preserve." Although Francis bacon was probably referring to his finished paintings as the preserved accidents, I like that in his studio we can see a certain kind of selective preservation via the lack of erasure, limited cleaning and ordering. I want my art practice to forever be generous towards accidents and 'mistakes'. Though, I'm happy to be working in a slightly tidier studio.
