This monoprint series documents the surface of scorched wood as a celebration of nature’s fragility and enduring vitality. The raw charcoal produces familiar and abstracted forms that murmur on the surface of the paper; lingering between presence and absence, and invoking the regenerative power of the post-fire Australian bush.
Reflecting Wall, 2013
Relationships between the viewer, artwork and institution are explored through photographing the reflection of artworks mingled with traces of traffic on the weathered gallery floor.
