Although Francis bacon was probably referring to his finished paintings as the preserved accidents, I like that in his studio we can see a certain kind of selective preservation via the lack of erasure, limited cleaning and ordering. I want my art practice to forever be generous towards accidents and 'mistakes'. Though, I'm happy to be working in a slightly tidier studio.
