Tiliqua Studio is a co-share workspace for designers and artists in Sydney’s creative hub of St Peters. Separated by a short flight of stairs, the space comprises a printmaking and painting studio for artists and a dedicated design studio above. Upstairs Downstairs is a show of the interesting hybrid work these workplaces can generate.
I'm excited to be heading out to Hill End for a 3 week Residency staying in the National Art School Studio Bryant's Butchery. This is a photo of the G.H. Butcher Shop from c1871-75 - I'm glad there have been a couple of upgrades since then! I'm all stocked up with woodblocks, tools and watercolours and looking forward to some concentrated time for developing new work.
You are invited to 'The Edge' at Annandale Galleries featuring 12 emerging Australian artists: Susan Buret, Adrian Clement, Sophia Egarchos, Suzie Idiens, Adrian McDonald, Michael McIntyre, Esther Neate, Catherine O’Donnel, Conor O’Shea, Chris Packer, June Sartracom, and Elwira Titan. I'm delighted to be showing work amongst this amazing crew!
Catherine Benz has curated a show featuring six Masters of Fine Arts and PhD candidates from UNSW College of Fine Arts, National Art School and Sydney College of the Arts at the University of Sydney. It has been a privelage to be part of the show. You can check out the catalogue featuring installation shots of my work here.
The Old Fire Shed Gallery in Wollombi has provided the perfect setting for my upcoming show. Ash to Ashes is a response to the Sydney Bushfires of October 2013 and an investigation of the post-fire Australian landscape. For the first time ink-laden woodblocks are on display amongst monoprints, porcelain works and drawings. It’s a beautiful drive out from Sydney on meandering country roads. I hope you can come out and visit!
